Design Miami 2024

Yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to explore the debut of Design Miami/ in Los Angeles, and I was absolutely blown away! Held at the historic Holmby Hills estate, this event was a true celebration of design, art, and architecture. The venue itself, a stunning 1930’s Georgian Colonial mansion designed by the legendary Paul Williams, set a perfect backdrop for the innovative displays and installations.
As I wandered through the various exhibits, I was particularly impressed by the curated selection of international galleries. Each showcased a unique blend of historical and contemporary designs, offering a diverse and rich experience. The meticulous curation by Ashlee Harrison was evident in every corner of the estate, making the visit both inspiring and thought-provoking.

The visual art direction by Henrik Purienne added an extra layer of allure to the fair. His vision brought a cohesive aesthetic to the event, enhancing the overall experience. The interplay of light, space, and design created an immersive environment that was as much about experiencing art as it was about viewing it.
Beyond the stunning displays, Design Miami/ LA also offered a series of engaging talks and networking opportunities. It was enlightening to hear from leading designers and industry experts about the future of design and the role it plays in shaping our world. These sessions provided valuable insights and sparked meaningful conversations about the intersection of design, culture, and technology.
Overall, Design Miami/ Los Angeles was an unforgettable experience. It not only showcased the best in collectible design but also highlighted the city’s vibrant creative scene. If you have a passion for design or simply appreciate beautiful, innovative creations, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Can’t wait to see what next year brings!
